Our plastic frames are made from cellulose acetate (zyl). Cellulose acetate is the only plastic that does not come from petroleum, but rather from components of vegetable origin, such as cotton flakes.

The manufacture of the cellulose acetate sheet is very long and complex. The vegetable fibers are treated with suitable solvents, so that a homogenous, malleable mass is formed. This mass is coloured with vegetable or mineral pigments and successively transformed into a ' solid block '.

Cellulose acetate differs from all other materials due to its amazing three-dimensional effects, transparency, brightness of colour and magic compositions. Moreover, zyl maintains the characteristics of the vegetable fibers, will not provoke skin allergies, and has a warm, silky feel.

The frames are then manually cut from these sheets by highly skilled craftsmen.
